Live MNQ Trade Using Sonic System

Monday, May 6 – Today we’re taking a close look at the MNQ, the Micro E-mini NASDAQ futures market. If you’re new to trading or thinking about jumping into NASDAQ futures, this post will walk you through one of the most accessible ways to get started.

Before we go any further, it’s important to mention that trading involves risk. You should never trade with money you can’t afford to lose. The best approach is to start small, build your skills, and gain experience step by step.

The MNQ is an excellent choice for new traders. It mirrors the movement of the larger NASDAQ futures contract (NQ), but at just one-tenth the size. This makes it far less intimidating and much more manageable, especially if you’re still learning. Just like how the E-mini S&P 500 has its micro version (MES), the MNQ offers a cost-effective way to trade a major market using less capital.

This morning, we used the Sonic System, our go-to trading strategy that works across several markets—including MNQ, MES, crude oil, and even crypto. Early in the session, the system provided two solid short signals. On the third, we took a live short trade using a limit order.

The Sonic System gave us both the stop loss and the profit target automatically, helping us stay focused and avoid emotional decision-making.

Before entering the trade, we double-checked for any major economic news that might affect the market. Our custom news filter (which is free for members) confirmed that there were no scheduled reports likely to interfere. Once we were in the trade, price moved in our favor quickly. Thanks to our price action rules, we didn’t hold on too long—the target was hit, and we moved on.

If you’re wondering about the difference between the MNQ and the full NQ contract, it’s all about size. On the MNQ, each point move is worth about $2, while the same move on the NQ is worth $20. So if you earn $25 on the MNQ, that’s equivalent to a $250 gain on the larger contract. This is why starting with micro contracts is such a smart way to gain confidence without risking too much capital.

In our live trading room, members can ask questions, observe real-time examples, and build their trading skills with guidance. Many of them are working toward, or have already achieved, funded trading accounts using the Sonic System’s reliable setup.
